Our Team - Dentists
Dr. Rick Chapman received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from The Ohio State University in 1977 and began practicing in his current Worthington location soon after. He is also a Fellow of the prestigious Academy of General Dentistry. (A "Fellow" in the Academy of General Dentistry [FAGD] is someone who has completed extensive courses of continuing dental education, and been formally recognized as a leader and example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care.)
Dr. Chapman's mission is to provide you with care that combines cutting edge technology with artistry in a comfortable and caring setting that ensures your optimal dental health and gives you the confidence of a beautiful smile.
Dr. Chapman has always been an early adopter of new and better technology. He was among the first dentists in the area to adopt CEREC for one day crowns, and to utilize in-office cone beam computerized tomography, and he employs a variety of other digital technolgies, including a 3D printer. He's been committed throughout his career to expanding his knowledge and skills through extensive continuing education, vigorously pursuing advanced training in a wide variety of areas including immediate and delayed dental implant placement, advanced CEREC techniques, endodontic treatment, orthodontics, TMJ management, laser surgery, cosmetic and restorative rehabilitation, and many others.
Dr. Chapman enjoys spending time with his family, sailing, biking and hiking, or playing his custom guitars and drums.
"Dr. Mary," as she is fondly known, has been a valued associate of Dr. Chapman since 1995. She started her dental career as a hygienist (and can and does still do a mean "prophy" from time to time!) but dental school beckoned to her. She graduated near the top of her dental class at The Ohio State University in 1995, and fortunately found her way to Dr. Chapman's office. When not working, Dr. Mary is a serious runner, and routinely competes in marathons and and other races for charity. She has 3 great grown kids of whom Dr. Mary and husband George are very proud.
Staff
Laurie has been Dr. Chapman's dental hygienist since 2011. She graduated in May of 2011 from The Ohio State University and came to work for Dr. Chapman that summer. As a kid, Laurie loved going to the dentist, was fascinated by the instruments, and always knew she would have a career in the dental field. When not working, family-oriented Laurie loves spending time with her young daughter Kendall and son Kash who keep her hopping, (they love to visit Laurie's family farm) and with her husband Drew who is a teacher and coach in Dublin.
Bobbi has efficiently managed our high-tech yet warm and friendly office since 2000, and Dr. Chapman relies on her organizational abilities, skill and tact to "keep the trains running on time." Prior to joining our practice, she worked in other dental offices starting in 1987. She is exceptionally devoted to her two grandchildren, Tessa and Conor, and spends much of her free time trying to keep up with them. Her husband Jess has also worked in the dental field for many years.
Amy has been a dental assistant since 1984 and a key part of Dr. Chapman's office since 2011. In additional to her strong technical sills, Amy has a real faciity for putting patients at ease and making them feel comfortable. Amy is the proud mother of two accomplished sons; one provides services to a local school system and is an in-demand speaker, and the other is recent graduate of Purdue where he was a talented student athlete.
We welcomed Alexis to our team in 2018. Before entering the dental field, Alexis worked in healthcare for Mercy Health in several capacities, including admitting patients in the Emergency Room. She completed her dental assisting education at Sinclair Community College, and started her full-time dental career in a practice in Beavercreek. In addition to chairside assisting, Alexis focuses on work in our in-house lab, including using the 3D printer to produce models. Alexis and husband Jeremy have three children, Natalie, Zoey, Oliver and Meredith.
